Join us as Macy Reynolds provides an informative and lively discussion on the lessons she's learned from growing native plants. Macy’s experience over the years has helped her come to respect native plants, shrubs, and trees, learning that they can be quirky, stubborn, surprising, and rewarding.
Macy became a Master Garden Volunteer in Greene County, Ohio, after retiring from a public teaching career. She has completed four Ohio MG State Certifications in weeds, trees, insects, and most recently, native bees. Her own native plant gardens are on garden tours for the Midwest Native Plant Conference of which she was a founding member. She also heads-up the group of volunteers who manage the Yellow Springs Women’s Park that borders the Little Miami Bike Path. It’s planted entirely with native plants to showcase their beauty and importance to other gardeners. Additionally, she is the past president of the Yellow Springs Tree Committee which recently planted a food forest in a local park. She enjoys talking with groups about the importance of native plants, pollinators, and healthy soils.
