Foggy Cross at the Tecaboca Marianist Retreat Center in the Texas Hill Country.
April 17 - Easter Sunday
"He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay."
- Matthew 28:6
Christ is risen! Alleluia, let us rejoice! Following the Vatican’s inspiration, we have completed our Lenten journey through the Laudato Si Action Platform (www.laudatosiactionplatform.org) goals. Our work in stewarding God’s creation must continue beyond Lent. Come join the efforts of our families, educational and health institutions, congregations, communities, organizations and all of the world’s Catholics and people of good will on this journey!
Reflection
Christ is risen from the dead! This truth, this reality, this basis of all of Christian faith gives us greater hope than anything else we could imagine. God has shown that, no matter how dark the day may seem, that God can bring about good. Our world faces a tremendous challenge in addressing the environmental crisis. Right now we stand at the foot of the cross seeing all of God’s creation, including humanity, suffering. Yet Easter gives us great hope. God rolled away the stone and raised Jesus, a true human, from the dead! Thus, all of us, with God’s help, can rise with renewed energy and make life-giving environmental choices. Jesus has risen, and we will rise too. Let us go forth with Easter joy singing St. Francis of Assisi’s canticle Laudato Si: “Praised be You, my Lord!” Alleluia, God is alive!
Challenge
Sign yourself or family up for the Laudato Si Action Platform and join efforts in your congregation, institution, organization, or the Marianist Family to more fully live Laudato Si.
Honor Earth Day (April 22) using the resource Integral Ecology: Pursuing the Common Good for Our Common Home prepared by Catholic Climate Covenant.
