Join MEEC and the Dayton Metro Library for a special screening of Hometown Habitat: Stories of Bringing Nature Home and Q&A with award-winning documentary film maker Catherine Zimmerman at the main branch.

Hometown Habitat explores how and why native plants are critical to the survival and vitality of local ecosystems and features ecologist Doug Tallamy, and stories of other individuals and organizations restoring ecosystem services, conserving wildlife and water. Catherine Zimmerman is an award-winning director of photography, celebrating her 40th year as a documentary filmmaker, working on education and environmental issues. She is also an educator, certified horticulturist and landscape designer, accredited in organic land care and author/filmmaker of Urban & Suburban Meadows.
