Date:
Saturday, March 16, 2024 - 12:30pm to 4:30pm

As we journey through the winter season, we invite you to a retreat afternoon to explore our relationship with winter, the land, ourselves, and Spirit through the lens of peace and nonviolence. How might winter’s wisdom invite us to reflection, restoration, and renewal as touchstones on the path of peace? The format will include a guided winter nature walk (and an inside alternative), optional sharing, and time for quiet reflection. There will also be opportunities for creative expression including the choice of art journaling, poetry, and crafting (no artistic experience needed!). Come reflect, restore, and renew as the winter season enfolds us.

Facilitator Michelle Sherman is a retreat presenter, spiritual director, and project director at Pax Christi USA, the national Catholic peace movement. She completed the Spiritual Direction Formation program with the Sisters of Mercy and holds an MA in Theology and Ministry from Villanova University. Born in the Philippines, Michelle grew up in St. Louis, MO and has worked on staff in high school and university campus ministries, and volunteer/vocation ministry with women’s religious communities. She is a member of the Spiritual Directors of Color Network, Spiritual Directors International, and Bridgefolk (a grassroots organization of Mennonites and Catholics).

Registration fee: $35 ($25 for Friends of MEEC). UD students inquire about scholarships. We'll gather in the Madeleine Room in the Chaminade Center at Mount Saint John. For directions and a map of the property, please click here. The Madeleine room will open at noon for check-in.
