Mark your calendars - registration will open in August.
Hope is not escape, but the sacred act of remembering who we are and what the world might yet become. During this day-long experience inspired by the Jubilee Year, we'll draw on spiritual, artistic, and natural wisdom to explore hope, the cycles of rest and renewal, and our call to work to restore communities of land and people. We'll spend contemplative time in nature, connecting to the earth and its rhythms of letting go and beginning anew. We'll call on the artist within each of us as a guide to carrying hope in troubled times. We'll hear from expert facilitators and teachers and spend time together being nourished, inspired and rooted in hope.
Vince Miller is Gudorf Chair in Catholic Theology and Culture on St. Thomas Aquinas and the passion of hope. Beth Vanoli, Methodist deaconess and Wild Church leader, will lead a meditative introduction to nature as a spiritual practice. Christine Middleton, a Marianist lay woman and retired teacher, will share what she's learned from nature through art and will teach us how to better observe nature through watercolor. Gather in the Madeleine Room in the Chaminade Center. For directions and map of the property, click here. Registration fee includes lunch, snacks and art materials.
