Walking the Labyrinth With Mary

Date:
Saturday, May 2, 2026 - 10:00am to 12:00pm

The first Saturday of May is World Labyrinth Day. It is also midway between the starts of spring and summer, and the beginning of the month traditionally dedicated to women and Mary, the Mother of God. Join us as we pray for peace in our world and to be bearers of hope and reconciliation.

The native plant labyrinth at Mount St. John, modeled on the Chartes Cathedral Labyrinth,  is formed with native plants and is maintained by MEEC staff and volunteers.  Labyrinths have been used as tools for personal spiritual growth for centuries. Walking the labyrinth is a meditative pilgrimage, and the experience is deeply personal.

Our experience will be facilitated by MEEC Director Sr. Leanne Jablonski, FMI and will include information on using the labyrinth for spiritual development, a guided labyrinth walk, and reflections on the mysteries of Mary's life and our own. In case of rain, we will offer an indoor meditation. Refreshments will be served and free-will offerings accepted. Park in Lot C and gather in the MEEC classroom in St. Joseph Hall. For a map of the property, click here. Please dress for the weather and wear long pants and closed-toe walking shoes.

This gathering is the next in MEEC's Nature and Spirit Walk series, offered on or around each solstice, equinox, and cross-quarter day.
